How Nu-Dimensions Started
Nu-Dimensions is a non-profit organization formed in 2016 and provides affordable housing within the community. Nu-Dimensions YouthBuild is funded via a grant through the Department of Labor. In January 2020, Nu-Dimensions YouthBuild was awarded a grant in the amount of $887,074 with the intention of providing services to youth and partners in Catawba County in North Carolina.
Main Components of YouthBuild
YouthBuild focuses on academic growth, construction experience, and leadership development for our participants. Students are given opportunities to earn their GED/high school diploma and NCCER certification through our partnership with Catawba Valley Community College as well as gain valuable hands on experience with construction work alongside business partners across the county. Every participant is given the chance to develop their professional, academic and networking skills to encourage future success.
The YouthBuild Mission is to unleash the intelligence and positive energy of underserved youth ages 16-24 to rebuild their lives and communities by fulfilling their potential and contributing to the well-being of their communities.
Nu-Dimensions YouthBuild believes that every participant has value and deserves support for success. We accept participants of all races, genders, ability, sexual identity, socio-economic status, religious and political views. Our culture is one of inclusion and acceptance, and we strive to make all participants feel welcome and comfortable within our program.
